Resource For Healthcare Professionals

If you are a healthcare professional interested in supporting your patients by improving your understanding of food allergy or intolerance, I have provided links to important resources.

If you are a patient looking to better understand your diagnosis, or if you suspect you have a food allergy or intolerance, this is not the best resource for you. Medical professionals go through rigorous education and training and these resources will compound the knowledge they have with additional information. If you are a patient and something on this page is relevant to what you are diagnosed with or experiencing, I encourage you to take any information to your healthcare professional and discuss it with them.

Self-diagnosis has the potential to be dangerous or detrimental to your health when dealing with a food allergy or intolerance. In addition to direct patient care, I also provide patient resources via handouts, educational videos, and blog articles. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

Understanding Anaphylaxis

While food allergy fatality is rare, awareness and preparedness are key to managing a food allergy reaction. Knowledge is power. Please reach out if you have any questions.

WNW is an “Epi first, Epi fast” advocate. Epinephrine is the first line of treatment in an anaphylactic reaction. While there are more classic anaphylactic signs & symptoms anaphylaxis is not always easy to recognize. Confirm patients have a clear understanding of the emergency response plan provided by their medical provider.  If you are a medical professional that does not fully understand anaphylaxis please refer to the literature and resources above or contact me if you have any questions.
